It's a Legal Requirement
If you own or operate a fork lift truck on your premises, it MUST have a valid Thorough Examination Certificate to comply with current Health & Safety Regulations.
Failure to comply with the above could put you at risk of prosecution by the Health & Safety Executive and could invalidate your insurance in the case of a serious accident arising from faulty equipment.
Stay within the Law
The Thorough Examination is a legal requirement and is similar to but significantly more comprehensive than a car's 'MOT' that applies to every fork lift truck, including machines that are just one year old. This examination must be carried out by a "competent person" from a recognised company with the audit trail and systems necessary to undertake the procedure.
Where can I get a Certificate?
Angus Lift Trucks Ltd is one of the accredited companies that has met the stringent Quality Assurance Procedural Code introduced by the Consolidated Fork Truck Services Ltd.
The Consolidated Fork Truck Services Ltd was formed by two major Organisations, the British Industrial Truck Association and Fork Lift Truck Association. With guidance from the Health & Safety Executive a procedure was approved where any Company trained and accredited by the CFTS would carry out a Thorough Examination to the same standard. This scheme can be identified nationally by the distinctive "T/E Tick" certification mark.
